Meet Our Staff...
I am a 1994 graduate from the Blue Ridge Community College in Veterinary Technology. I enjoy working with people as well as their pets ! I especially enjoy seeing and working with exotic pets like the reptiles, avians and pocket pets. When I am not at work, I enjoy bluegrass music festivals. My family includes my husband, Matthew, 2 dogs: Arlo & Bruce and a kitty named Harriet.
I've been working in the veterinary medicine field for over 20 years now and it's never a dull moment, I love a job that you learn something new everyday and helping a pet that can't tell us what's wrong is very rewarding to me. As for pets of my own, I have 2 fire belly toads named Johnny and June, and a tree frog named SoJe. In my free time I love to travel, I enjoy spending time with my family at the beach, horsing around with my niece and nephews, and go camping any chance I get.
I started working here 5 years ago, but have been working with animals for over 10 years now. I have multiple pets of my own to keep me busy when I'm not at work; with 3 dogs, 4 cats, and a tortoise as well at my 4 wonderful children. Being originally from the Chicago area I do enjoy the mild winters of Virginia. I am most excited about working with all of the Exotic animals that we see here daily.
I grew up a country girl from a small town in Oregon. I've found myself surrounded by farm animals and pet stores my whole life. I enjoy taking care of animals, seeing the joy they bring others, and learning more about them all the time. I rescued a Slovakian Chihuahua while living in Italy and we named her Abby. In my free time, I am addicted to coffee, baking and crime shows. I have 3 dogs Elara, Wyatt and Abby and 3 mischievous cats named Felix, Tommy and Mocha, however it's my husband, two daughters and parents that keep me on my toes!
I'm thrilled to be a part of the Animal Hospital of Lynchburg team! Working with animals has always been a passion of mine, and I look forward to providing a quality and caring experience for you and your pet! Some of my favorite things are pugs, spending time with my family, and traveling. In my free time, I enjoy crafts, attending UVA sporting events with my husband, and also hanging out with my pug and lab.
I am a recent graduate of the Blue Ridge Community College Veterinary Tech program and a new LVT, though I have been with the hospital for over 2 years now. Altogether, I have over 5 years of experience in veterinary medicine field. I proudly identify as what some may call a "crazy cat lady"! My three cats- Sawyer, Arya, and Sophie are my entire world! When I am not working, I enjoy writing, reading, and watching series/movies. Next to cats, my favorite thing is a great story.
I'm a very spoiled Australian Shepherd that loves to come to work with my mom & dad (Dr. Rick and Dr. Jean) to see all of the other animals and the humans that bring them in. In my spare time I love to do a lot of things with my family. I like to do agility trials with my mom, go on runs and ride on the tractor with my dad, I even play with my horses and go to their shows. I can do a variety of tricks, as well as being an avid swimmer and stick retriever. I will swim in any body of water I find! I really love treats and belly scratches from the UPS driver Lou, and going to the tractor supply store, but my favorite is when my sisters come home to go on hikes with me and our whole family, they are the most fun times when we are all together.
